Offer what little you have and trust God to provide the rest

    • God's provisions can be experienced in some strange places

    1 Kings 17:2-4

    Elijah Fed by Ravens

2 Then the word of the Lord came to Elijah: 3 “Leave here, turn eastward and hide in the Kerith Ravine, east of the Jordan. 4 You will drink from the brook, and I have directed the ravens to supply you with food there.”

    • God's help is often counter-intuitive and found in places where least expect it

1 Kings 17:8-9New International Version (NIV) 8 Then the word of the Lord came to him: 9 “Go at once to Zarephath in the region of Sidon and stay there. I have directed a widow there to supply you with food.”

1 Kings 17:14New International Version (NIV) 14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”

Job 42:12-13, 15 (NLT) 12So the LORD blessed Job in the second half of his life even more than in the beginning…13He also gave Job seven more sons and three more daughters. 15In all the land no women were as lovely as the daughters of Job. And their father put them into his will along with their brothers.

Jesus was intentional about taking a break from work

    Mark 6:31-32 (NLT)

Jesus said, "Let go off by ourselves to a quiet place and rest awhile." He said this because there were so many people coming and going that Jesus and His apostles didn't even have time to eat. So they left by boat for a quiet place, where they could be alone.

God cares about the details of my life

    Matthew 6:31-32 (NLT)

So don't worry about these things, saying, What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear? These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs
